Introducing the Artist - Ruu.Tail
Will Towney is a proud Wiradjuri man from Gilgandra, NSW, whose art reflects a deep connection to Country, Community, and Culture. Working in a traditional contemporary dot style, Will brings stories to life on canvas, blending cultural knowledge with modern artistic expression.
Guided by the teachings and stories of Elders past and present, Will’s creative process is deeply personal and in honour of his late Grandparents. Each blank canvas becomes a space where those stories continue to live and grow, making every piece feel like home as it comes to life through colour, movement, and meaning.
Will’s work is grounded in a strong connection to Country and Community. Through his art, he aims to help shift the way Indigenous people are perceived, creating a safe and welcoming space where everyone can celebrate and appreciate the oldest living Culture in the World living within Australia.
As he continues building a solid foundation in the art world, Will remains focused on giving back to community—using his art not only as a form of expression, but as a way to share culture, strengthen understanding, and inspire future generations to pursue their own dreams.
“From the red dust of Wiradjuri Country, I carry my Ancestors with me every step - Painting the World stories older then their borders, proving that no matter how far i travel, My Culture will always be the compass that guides me.”
